Major partnership projects

In collaboration with local partners, including regional county municipalities (MRCs), local and Indigenous communities, we are developing large-scale wind power projects—typically 1,000 MW or more—that are part of a sustainable approach tailored to each community.

Development in the Gaspésie and eastern Bas‑Saint‑Laurent

Up to 6,000 MW of wind power could be developed on Gespe’gewa’gi Mi’gmac land through a partnership between Hydro‑Québec, the Mi’gmawei Mawiomi Business Corporation (MMBC) and the Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est.

Wetsok Agreement

The Wetsok Agreement brings together Hydro‑Québec, the Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est and the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation to develop up to 1,500 MW of wind power.

The Nutinamu‑Chauvin area, which is being studied by Hydro‑Québec, the Innu of Essipit and the Fjord‑du‑Saguenay MRC, could generate 500 MW to 1,000 MW of energy from renewable sources.

Utshishkau wind farm

The Utshishkau wind farm, developed with the Pekuakamiulnuatsh First Nation, the Atikamekw of Wemotaci and the Domaine‑du‑Roy MRC, could generate 600 MW of energy from renewable sources.
