Playing an active role in the energy transition Together, let’s change the course of history!

We have never been afraid to dream. Let’s work together to create a stronger and more sustainable Québec.

Our goal is to generate twice as much renewable energy so that we can reduce Québec’s dependence on polluting energy sources and create wealth here at home. To do this, we will build on our greatest strength: electricity.

Why take action now

Almost 50% of the energy used in Québec still comes from fossil fuels, mainly for things like transportation and building heating.

To reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build a stronger, more sustainable Québec, we must make better use of electricity and gradually replace polluting energy sources with renewables.

Using energy more wisely and replacing fossil fuels with renewables is what we call the energy transition.

How are we going to do that?

Such an increase in demand represents an enormous collective challenge. We all have a role to play.

By being energy wise

When households and businesses reduce and shift their consumption to the right time, there is more electricity available to meet the growing demand in Québec, because every kilowatthour saved is a kilowatthour we don’t need to generate!

By generating more electricity

To meet Québec’s growing energy demand, we must build new wind farms, improve the performance of existing hydropower generating stations, and increase the capacity of our transmission system.

Shift your consumption and save

In winter, when everyone heats their home at the same time, we end up with peak periods. Take advantage of great offers when you shift your electricity use outside those peak periods.
