The table below should help you prepare when it comes to reducing your power demand at Hydro-Québec’s request, particularly in terms of your workforce planning.
Peak demand event forecasts
This table indicates the likelihood that you will need to reduce your power demand, depending on the option or rate applicable to your contract.
Various factors, including weather and fluctuations in supply and demand, will influence Hydro‑Québec’s decision to issue a peak demand event notification.
Interpretation
Forecasts are updated at 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, for the next 7 days, with the exception of the following day since peak demand event notification takes precedence.
Low probability: There is little likelihood that you will need to reduce your power demand during the time period in question.
Medium probability: There is some likelihood that you will need to reduce your power demand during the time period in question.
High probability: There is a very strong likelihood that you will need to reduce your power demand during the time period in question.
Data not available (ND): Hydro-Québec cannot provide a probability for the time period in question.
Regardless of the probability indicated, it is the peak demand event notification you receive by email, text message, phone or signal that confirms that you must reduce your power demand.
